David
Wheelwright -
Consultant - B.Sc.Ag,
Dip.Bus.Stud. |
David
has more than 30
years experience
in the registration
of agricultural
chemicals
medicines, working
with both local
and overseas companies.
Agvet chemicals
are highly regulated
in Australia, and
submissions for
the registration
of new chemicals
to Australia require
a multi disciplinary
approach as Agvet
chemicals must be
approved by a number
of government agencies
including TGA, ASCC,
DEWHA and state
departments of Agriculture,
as well as evaluation
by the regulatory
authority itself,
the APVMA.
This process requires
liaison with the
client companies
and various levels
of government departments
as well as requiring
the knowledge to
compile dossiers
to satisfy the requirements
of the various government
agencies.
David is considered
to be one of the
most experienced
and competent
consultants in
the Agvet Industry.
He is valued for
his experience
in registering
products and the
associated specialist
technical activities
that, for example,
include the evaluation
of products for
Dangerous Good
and Hazardous
Substance classification
and provision
of Safety
Data Sheets. He
is able to advise
on the requirements
to gain the necessary
permits from AQIS,
to import products
containing biological
material.
David’s
previous roles
have included
training personnel
in Agsafe accreditation,
an industry initiative
requiring all
personnel involved
in the sale and
advice of pesticides
to be accredited.
He has been involved
in Industry Organisations
including 8 years
as technical advisor
for the Queensland
division of Avcare
and the inaugural
chairman of the
container disposal
sub-committee
of the Avcare
Queensland division.
David has been
working as a consultant
for registering
agricultural
chemicals
since leaving
Incitec Ltd in
1994.
